In July 2024, Uganda exported 821,593 60-kilogram bags of coffee, generating US$ 210.48 million—up 26.15% in volume and 98.68% in value from July 2023. The Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA) cited favorable market conditions, improved quality, and increased production as key factors.
The average export price climbed from US$ 4.06 to US$ 4.27 per kilogram, signaling strong demand. Robusta coffee exports reached 722,444 bags valued at US$ 198 million, with a 22.16% increase in quantity and 112.07% in value.
Recent harvests from Greater Masaka and South Western regions further boosted exports, while high global coffee prices, driven by poor weather in Brazil and Vietnam, contributed to the overall surge.
