UGANDA & ZIMBABWE TO COLLABORATE ON TOURISM REVIVAL.

President Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe emphasized the need to revive tourism collaboration with Uganda by establishing direct flights to key tourist destinations like Victoria Falls. In a bilateral meeting with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni at the African Regional Forum on Sustainable Development, he noted the positive impact of Uganda Airlines‘ recent flights to Zimbabwe, which enhance trade and travel between the two nations.

Mnangagwa urged Tourism ministers from both countries to expedite efforts to boost tourism cooperation, highlighting existing warm relations between Zimbabwe and Uganda. He expressed Zimbabwe’s readiness to support Uganda Airlines and discussed the upcoming Zimbabwe-Uganda Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation, aimed at enhancing economic ties and improving livelihoods.

Additionally, Mnangagwa sought Uganda’s backing for Zimbabwe’s bid for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council and expressed gratitude for Uganda’s support against Western sanctions. He concluded by wishing Uganda peaceful elections in January 2026.
