NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR UGANDA TOURISM BOARD.

The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) has appointed Pearl Hoareau Kakooza as its first female chairperson, marking a historic milestone for gender diversity in leadership roles in Uganda. The new Board comprises members with expertise in various sectors, such as civil aviation, finance, wildlife, and hospitality, and is expected to advance the tourism sector. During the inauguration ceremony, Hon. Tom Butime, the Minister of Tourism, praised the outgoing Board for their contributions to Uganda’s tourism appeal. Chairperson Kakooza expressed her commitment to promoting Uganda and attracting more visitors. The CEO of UTB highlighted the organization’s focus on collaboration with stakeholders to foster innovation and sustainable practices. The new Board includes members from various associations and ministries, positioning UTB to enhance the country’s tourism landscape.
