Uganda will join the global celebration of United Nations World Wildlife Day On March 3, 2025. The national celebrations will be hosted in Lira District with His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Uganda as the Chief Guest.
Uganda is one of the world’s most biodiverse countries, housing 53.9% of the global mountain gorilla population, 11% of recorded bird species, 8% of global mammal diversity, alongside significant amphibian, reptile, and butterfly species. This rich natural heritage is vital for tourism, employment, and community income.
