Uganda showcased itself as a top East African tourist destination at the 31st Moscow International Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Exhibition (MITT 2025). This key event attracts thousands of exhibitors and over 100,000 visitors annually.
A delegation of 18 Ugandan tour operators conducted business meetings with Russian counterparts to understand local tourism preferences. They were accompanied by Ugandan university students, who provided translation and highlighted the country’s culture through dance and traditional dress.
Ambassador Moses Kizige noted a significant increase in Russian tourist interest, with over 300 visas issued monthly by the embassy. This was Uganda’s third appearance at MITT, reflecting its strategy to expand tourism markets beyond traditional European and American audiences to include Russia and Asia.
