UGANDA SIGNS MIGRATORY BIRDS OF PREY PROTECTION AGREEMENT.

Uganda has signed the migratory birds of prey protection agreement,  joining over 65 countries in signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Conservation of Migratory Birds of Prey in Africa, strengthening its commitment to wildlife conservation. The signing, led by the State Minister for Tourism, highlights the need for enhanced conservation of raptors such as hawks, eagles, and vultures, many of which are declining in population.

The Minister emphasized the ecological importance of raptors and their contribution to tourism and local economies. He announced plans for a National Raptors Conservation and Management Strategy and urged stakeholders to support efforts to protect these vital species.
