The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) has signed three significant concession agreements to boost tourism investment in Uganda’s protected areas. Signed with Tiang Tang Group, Kagobed Holdings Ltd, and Russell Hall Ltd, the concessions are aimed at developing high-end tourism infrastructure in Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth, and Kidepo Valley national parks.
The total investment exceeds $28.5 million, projected to enhance Uganda’s tourism sector within two to three years. Kagobed Holdings will redevelop Jacana Safari Lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park for $7 million, incorporating upscale facilities like accommodations, helipad, a health club etc. Tiang Tang Group plans a $20 million glass bridge and restaurant at the Top of the Murchison Falls, aiming to bolster Uganda’s unique tourism appeal, & Russell Hall Ltd will build a $1.5 million luxury lodge in Kidepo Valley National park, partnering with TUI Blue to meet international service standards.
