The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) has signed a 25-year concession agreement with One Nature Hotels Limited to develop a luxury lodge at Channel Track near the Kazinga Channel in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
The agreement is a significant advance in sustainable high-end tourism in Uganda. One Nature Hotels will invest $10 million in the lodge and $1 million for boat services on the channel, while also developing land in Rushaga to attract affluent visitors from the Middle East and beyond. Minister Tom Butime highlighted that this initiative supports Uganda’s aim to enhance high-value tourism, promote sustainability, and benefit local communities, positioning the park as a premier global destination for nature and luxury travelers.
