The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) is upgrading Entebbe International Airport, by introducing a modern business class facility featuring improved lounges, premium dining, high-speed Wi-Fi, private workspaces, quiet zones, and shower facilities.
Director General Fred Bamwesigye announced the project, which aims to enhance comfort and efficiency for business travelers amid growing passenger numbers, and attract more international airlines. The facility is currently under construction and is expected to open early next year. The construction will join the ongoing infrastructure upgrades, nearing 92% completion, including runway resurfacing and a new cargo center, solidifying the airport’s crucial role in international travel and trade.
As international passenger traffic increases in Uganda, with over 1 million passengers recorded in the first half of 2024, the UCAA aims to enhance the overall travel experience.
