Italy remains the top importer of Uganda’s coffee, comprising 40.68% of exports in July 2024 (approximately 334,252 bags). A UCDA report indicates Europe holds a 72% share of Uganda’s coffee market, up from 69% in June 2024.
Germany follows as the second-largest importer at 15.75% (129,387 bags), with Sudan (5.41%), India (5.26%), and the Netherlands (4.14%) also significant markets.
The UCDA plans to boost Uganda’s market presence through quality improvements and promotions, reflecting the growing global demand for Ugandan coffee and the country’s increasing influence in the industry.
