The Mt. Rwenzori Marathon, set for August 24th, is generating excitement and anticipation among global running enthusiasts. Three of its courses have received World Athletics certification, attracting participants from 24 countries, including elite athletes. This year, eight ambassadors from Qatar and the UAE, representing brands like Asics and Nike, are promoting the event to foster tourism from the Middle East to Uganda.
Featuring in airline magazines and the British publication Women’s Running, the marathon aims to boost Uganda’s tourism through fitness and adventure. With courses for various fitness levels—including a 5km fun run, 10km, half marathon, and full marathon—the event promises to be a significant draw for runners worldwide.
