UGANDA RAILWAY MUSEUM.

The Uganda Railway played a significant role in the country’s development, connecting communities, providing access to education and facilities, and fostering national consciousness. However, the railway has been largely unused or underused in recent years, with historical artifacts and buildings falling into disrepair.

The establishment of the Uganda Railway Museum aims to preserve this cultural heritage and revitalize interest in the railway. The museum will feature exhibits showcasing the history of the railway, its impact on Ugandan society, and its role in the country’s economic and political development.

The government has acknowledged the importance of preserving the railway’s legacy and is working to revamp the railway transport system. The museum will complement these efforts by providing a place for reflection, learning, and interaction for young people.

The museum is open to the public from Tuesdays to Sundays at a fee. This initiative demonstrates the Uganda Conservation Foundation’s commitment to safeguarding historical buildings, sites, and monuments.
