The Uganda Rwanda safari combines mountain gorilla and wildlife adventures in Uganda and Rwanda, two magical East Africa countries. It includes gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – Uganda, Big game viewing and a boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park – Uganda. 

The Rwanda safari includes gorilla trekking to Volcanoes National Park, as well as a visit to the Kigali genocide memorial site.

BRIEF ITINERARY:
Day 1: Arrive Entebbe.
Day 2: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Day 3: Game drive / Boat ride on Kazinga Channel.
Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Day 5: Gorilla trekking Experience / Transfer to lake Bunyonyi.
Day 6: Boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi / Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
Day 7: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park / Iby’Iwacu cultural visit.
Day 8: Transfer to Kigali / Genocide memorial visit / Departure.

DETAILED ITINERARY:

Day 1:Arrive Entebbe
Arrive at Entebbe Airport. Meet and greet by your driver/Guide. Transfer to your Hotel in Entebbe – BB (+/- 15 minutes)

Day 2: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After Breakfast,  pick up by your Driver/Guide and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park (+/- 7hrs.)
Have a stop over at the Equator for a photo opportunity, & a chance to purchase some souvenirs & handicrafts.
Also visit the Royal drum makers before continuing to the park.

After lunch, take an afternoon game drive with opportunity to view Lions, Buffalos, elephants, warthogs, Antelopes, waterbuck,  spotted hyenas etc. After this wonderful afternoon, a slow drive back to Lodge.(FB)

Day 3: Game drive / Boat ride
After an early breakfast,  take a game drive through Kasenyi Plains, with opportunity to sight most of the savanna dwellers. Return to the lodge for relaxation.

Later, enjoy on an afternoon boat trip along Kazinga Channel that links Lake Edward and Lake George. The ride gives you the opportunity to view wildlife up close: hippo’s huff and spray mere feet away from the boat, buffalo linger in the shallows and crocodiles bask on the shores. The channel is also home to an array of birds including pink backed pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, saddle billed stork and many others. After, return to your Lodge.(FB)

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi National Park
After breakfast, depart for Bwindi National Park (+/- 5hrs), and drive through Ishasha sector – famed for tree climbing lions. After a game drive, transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Home of the Endangered mountain Gorillas. Overnight at your lodge.(FB)

Day 5: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi & transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After Early breakfast, proceed to the park hq for briefing on rules and safety measures to be observed during the trekking activity. The gorilla trek can take anything from few minutes to several hours depending on where they nested the previous night. Once you locate the gorillas with help of your guide and trackers, you are allowed to stay with them for only one hour – take pictures and learn more about their habits.
Gorilla Trekking is unpredictable, and physical fitness is required for this adventure.

Later, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, one of the deepest lakes in Africa with 29 scenic islands. Spend your evening at the shores enjoying the beautiful scenery. Overnight at your lodge (FB)

Day 6: Boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi / Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
After breakfast, take a boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi, with an array of over 200 bird species. Then transfer to Volcanoes National Park through Cyanika border (+/- 2hrs). Overnight at your lodge (FB)

Day 7: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park – Rwanda / Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village visit
After breakfast, report to Kinigi Visitor Centre for a briefing on gorilla trekking rules. Then depart for your trekking experience in search of the mountain gorillas. After you locate the gorillas, expect to spend 1 hour with these amazing rare apes.

Later, visit Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village for a cultural experience. Enjoy the unique cultural dances, music performances & cultural exhibitions. After, return to your lodge (FB)

Day 8: Transfer to Kigali / Genocide memorial visit / Departure.
After Breakfast, depart for Kigali city (+/- 2hrs) to visit Kigali genocide memorial site. After, your  Driver guide will transfer you to Kigali international Airport for your flight back home.
